And it’s like a record skipping on the spindle. The folly repeats. The fall ensues.

Direction is vital. Without direction sails full of wind are lost at sea.

One day when I does not exist
Only we
Two, but one
Love of the Father
The glue that holds us
Keeps us as we wait
I whisper sweetly
(Forgetting to breathe)
All the lovely things
(Though not as lovely as you)
Exhale slow
Breathe in deeply
Your smell, intoxicating
Yes, one day
(One day awakened by love)
I’ll gently lift your veil
Softly kiss your lips, mine
Ours
You and I, we
Home until death sweetly takes
To eternity’s embrace

Life as we know it can change in an instant. Change is inevitable but growth is a choice. When situations and people hurt you and let you down, relax. If you have breath left in your lungs, you have the capacity to live. In Ecclesiastes Solomon says that there is a time for every emotion. It’s natural to react to situations and it’s a blessing. So many people live with dead hearts and shy away from feeling. Feeling is the heart of humanity.

I have been guilty in the past of doing that very same thing. We find things to dull the senses and something to quickly fix us. Inevitably the numbness will wear off and you’re still left with a choice. Run or fight.

I want to feel the weight of my hurts. I want to suffer well. I won’t suppress it for that would be suppressing the very thing that will drive me later. Muscles rip when you exercise them and when they heal they are stronger. That’s what I want. I choose to continually learn. I will inevitably miss the mark. There is a beauty though, found when we fall down and get back up.

Like a fine wine we’ll get better with age and experience. It all depends on how we respond to change. Change is coming. Change well. Live well.
